Job Title: Debate and Public Speaking Coach

Location: Shanghai, China

Starting Date: July or August 2023

Job Description:

We are seeking a qualified and experienced Debate and Public Speaking Coach to join our team at Inspira Education in Shanghai. As a coach, you will be responsible for teaching 8-10 classes per week, with a class size of up to 8 students. Class timing ranges from 2 to 2.5 hours, depending on the type of debate. The debate formats we teach include Public Forum, World Schools Style, British Parliamentary, and Asian Parliamentary. The speech formats we teach include Expository Speeches, Impromptu Speeches, Original Oratory, and Storytelling. Our students compete worldwide, and we have a track record of success over the past few years in China and beyond.

Responsibilities:

• Teach 8-10 classes per week, with a class size of up to 8 students.
• Teach debate formats including Public Forum, World Schools Style, British Parliamentary, and Asian Parliamentary.
• Teach speech formats including Expository Speeches, Impromptu Speeches, Original Oratory, and Storytelling.
• Prepare students for competitions and help them achieve their best performance.
• Provide feedback and coaching to students to improve their communication skills.
• Attend competitions with students and support them throughout the competition.
• Keep track of student progress and provide regular updates to parents.
• Attend regular meetings with the Inspira Education team to discuss student progress and curriculum development.

Requirements:

• At least 2 years of work experience in coaching or participating in relevant speech and debate competitions.
• Fluent in English, with excellent written and oral communication skills.
• A passion for teaching and the ability to motivate and inspire students.
• Experience working with young people.
• A team player with strong interpersonal skills.
• Flexibility and adaptability to work in a multicultural environment.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in relevant field.

Remuneration Package:

We provide a competitive remuneration package including international insurance, housing stipends, professional development programs, Chinese language learning, a salary range from 25,000 to 40,000 RMB per month, annual return tickets, and a minimum of 14 days off per year. Salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
